Introduction:
Ladies Circle India (LC India) is an organization of young women between the age of 21 to 40. We have 1200 members in India. It is the ladies wing of Round Table India.
Ladies Circle India is affiliated to Ladies Circle International, which has a membership of 14,000 members and presence in 33 countries across the world.
Objective:
The objective of the organization is “Friendship and Service”
PROJECTS
“Educate to Enlighten”
“Educate to Enlighten” is our primary national project which concentrates on education related activities like building of classrooms, toilet block, kitchenettes, mid day meals, health and hygine, etc. which amounts to 2 crores annually.
- Building primary school infrastructure which includes construction of class rooms, Respective state governments, donors aid us in building these classrooms.
- Providing basic amenities like separate toilet block for boys and girls in government schools. This has specially benefited the girl child. There has been a tremendous increase in admissions and retention of the girl student. We have been aided by -
PARRYWARE: Parryware is providing the toilet Fittings like WC’s, washbasins, Cisterns etc. free of cost. Our pilot project with them was in Calcutta, following which we have utilized their fittings in the toilet blocks built later in different circling sectors
REGENCY TILES: They are providing us tiles at 50% of the cost price.
- Sponsorship and Scholarship to needy students under Adhyapana Sahaya.
- Efforts to improve the quality of Education by providing HRD training to the teachers, donating laboratory equipments, books for the library, providing mid day meals etc.
- Education to Enlighten Award: This year have been recognizing people who have contributed to the society in the field of education and felicitate them.
Other Projects:
Besides education Ladies Circle India has been committed to carrying out meaningful charity projects since 1968 in the field of Hygiene and Health awareness, Environment, Sanitation and welfare of women.
- A web site on negative blood group donors, www.negativegroups.org, which lists the voluntary donors of negative blood from all corners of our country, emphasizes our commitment to society.
- Hep-B vaccination given to underprivileged and the differently abled which was sponsored by M/sUnijules Ltd.
- Bone Mineral Density Camp conducted in circling centers with the help of Nicholas Piramal.
- Tsunami – Under the Tsunami rehabilitation project 6 schollos built at an approximate cost of Rs 24 lakhs. We have adopted schools in Cuddalore and Kancheepuram districts.
- We also assist destitutewomen by providing them with wet grinders, sewing machines, teaching them life skills. Supporting old age homes and orphanages.
- Provided relief and rehabilitation to the Mumbai and Surat flood victims.
- Health and Hygiene check ups done at various adopted schools and slums.
- Helping the differently abled by providing them with required infrastructure, artificial limbs, conducting competitions, etc.

Ladies Circle India has successfully tied up with the following corporates and local donors and businesses who have come forward and generously helped us.
